LAKES IN BELLA VISTA

There are seven lakes in Bella Vista. the largest is Loch Lomond. The smallest is Lake Norwood. for more information go to www.bellavistapoa.com/lakes/bvvlakes.asp.

Lake Ann consists of 112 acres, 53 feet maximum depth. Activities include fishing, boating and water skiing. It has a pavilion, picnic tables, a grill, fish cleaning station, restroom, boat ramp, multiuse docks and a fishing-only dock at the dam. It has a well balanced fish population, including ratios of largemouth bass and bluegill. Crappie and redear sunfish are also popular among the anglers. 

Lake Avalon cosists of 67 acres, 50 feet maximum depth. It is a no- wake lake. Activities include fishing and boating. It also has a pavilion, picnic tables, grills, restrooms, a horseshoe pit, boat ramp, multiuse docks, three fishing piers and an enclosed, heated fishing dock. The productive, green-tinted water supports one of the more dense fish populations in the village, second only to Lake Windsor. Sunfish species are abundant in Lake Avalon. The lake has many large bluegilll, redear sunfish, green sunfish and warmouth sunfish in shoreline areas. All of these fish serve as prey for the largemouth bass population.

Lake Bella Vista and its park are located just south of Bella Vista along US 71 HWY. The park consist of 132 acres and has a 1.8 mile walking and biking track around the lake. On th notrh side of the lake is the Veterns Wall of Honor. Southeast of the wall is a picnic and play area consisting of a covered pavilion and playground. There is a disc golf course set up on the western and southern shores of the lake. Fishing and kayaking are permited also. An Arkansas fishing license is required. There are parking areas along US 71 HWY, on the north shore next to the Veterans Wall of Honor and on the south side near the Walgreens Drug Store. 

Lake Brittany consists of 35acres, 75 feet maximum depth. It is a no-wake lake. The activities are fishing & boating. It has a boat ramp, multiuse docks and a restroom. Lake Brittany has a history of yielding 10 pound bass or larger each year. The lake yielded the largest bass in the village in 2007 fisheries population samples weighing a whopping 11.5 pounds. Brittany also boasts one of the best populations in the village of  redear sunfish, yeilding many large pan-sized redear. Brittany is stocked with trout during the winter months and is Bella Vista's only trout lake. 

Lake Norwood is on 34.5 acres, 79 feet maximum depth. It is a no-wake lake. Activities include fishing and boating. It has a picnic area, boat ramp and multiuse docks. The water supports good populations of bass, bluegill, crappie and catfish. The no-wake status, along with wooded, undeveloped shorelines, makes Lake Norwood a special treasure.

Lake Rayburn consists of 45 acres, 75 feet maximum depth. It is a no-wake lake. Activities include fishing and boating. It has a picnic area and boat ramp wiith a multiuse dock. This lake has a very high density of largemouth bass and a good bluegill fishery with many pan sized bluegill as well as a fairly good population of nice sized catfish. 

Lake Windsor consists of 220 acres, 79 feet maximum depth. It is an all water sports lake. Activities include fishing, boating and water skiing. It has a pavilion, restrooms, two boat ramps, multiuse docks and a fish cleaning station. The lake provides members a great place to ski and fish. Fishing from both boat and shoreline is allowed. Windsor's green tined water hides an extremely productive fishery that provides some of the best fishing in the village for laregmouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, crappie and catfish.

Loch Lomond consists of 477 acres, 80 feet maximum depth. Activities include fishing, boating and water skiing. It has a full service marina, pavilion, two parks, restrooms, three boat ramps, multiuse docks and a covered fishing dock. Loch Lomond provides annual leased covered and uncovered mooring spaces. Boat rental is available at the marina, 479-855-8182. 

So in conclusion, make Bella Vista a recreation destination.
